Back to the table
Today i completed my first week back playing snooker after a break from the game, stretching around 3/4 months, and what a mistake it was taking a break.
I've played 2 games and lost 2 games, 4-2 and 4-1 and represents the first time i've lost 2 games in a row possibly this year. I also practiced for the first time alone since May this week, it was frustrating as I can see what i want to do, as before my break, but my hands and cueing won't let it happen. I can take some credit though because the cue ball was chipped!
Long potting was the worst it's ever been today. I had high hopes for it, as when i played last week it seemed to be close to the usual sort of standard, but no, it was awful and i was regularly missing shots by 6-10 inches, poor form.
My opponent played well to be fair, but I can't help think that I made it easy for him.
Goals for next weeks practice should focus on cueing, which I can also practice at home. I think i just need to get back potting balls, take my time (which i need) and keep my confidence. I am looking to be feeling myself by mid December, and before the years out, want a 24 break, which will mean that in this year i will have equaled my best break, and beaten it. No too bad a progress I suppose.
